Top 10 World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016
After 14 Years in London, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants annual ceremony came state-side to New York’s Cipriani Wall Street. The night was filled with anticipation on the announcement of the winner of the coveted No.1 spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2016. With joyous cheer, Italy’s Osteria Francescana won the top spot of the night. Head Chef, Massimo Bottura accepted the award with ecstatic emotion and said to the crowd: “Thank you everyone! — Our job is all about hard work. People think we are rock stars, we are going here or there. It’s all about our work — in the kitchen, every day, to work and succeed.”
Last year’s winner, Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca, moved down to No.2 and New York’s Eleven Madison Park, took home the No.3 spot. Rounding out the top 10, were: No.4 Central, Lima Peru, No.5 Noma, Copenhagen Denmark, No.6 Mirazur, Menton, France, No.7 Mugaritz, San Sebastian, Spain, No.8 Narisawa, Tokyo, Japan, No.9 Steirereck, Vienna, Austria and No.10 Asador Etxebarri, Axpe, Spain.
