Claude Troisgros &  Thomas Troisgros

Chef Troisgois was born into a culinary dynasty, The Troisgros from Roanne, France. This prestigious family of chefs pioneered the fine art of French nouvelle cuisine, where plating is pristine and the food is fresh and delicate.  Claude began his culinary journey in Brazil, working for famed pastry Chef Gaston Lenôtre at Le Pré Catelan in Rio de Janiero.  With the intention of returning to France, Troisgois realized that Brazil had captured his heart with its unique flavors, food and culture and has lived there for over 30 years.

In 1983, Claude opened his first Rio restaurant, Roanne, then later changing the name to Olympe in honor of his mother. The restaurant is known for its unique fusion of native Brazilian ingredients and French gastronomy.  The acclaimed Olympe in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took the No.23 spot in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015 and No.35 on the list in 2014 and 2013.

On 26 September 2016, Chef Claude Troisgros will formally receive his well-deserved honor at the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016 award ceremony at the Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral sponsored by Pellegrino & Acqua Panna.
