The Erawan Shrine
With its central location and beautiful craftsmanship, it’s no surprise that the Erawan Shrine is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. This beautiful Hindu shrine was originally constructed in 1956 to ward off bad karma but has since become a mainstay attraction in the local community.

Wat Pathum Wanaram
The Pathum Wanaram temple is a perfect example of Bangkok’s past blending with its future. Juxtaposed between two towering malls, this quaint, 160-year-old site is one of Bangkok’s oldest Buddhist temples, containing the ashes of many Thai Royal family members.

Chulalongkorn University

With its vibrant colors and tiered roofs, Wat Yannawa is a beautiful example of Bangkok’s Buddhist temples. Situated beside the Chao Phraya, this iconic temple is known for its quirky “junk ship,” a boat-like shrine that was added more than 160 years ago under King Rama III. Entry is free but donations are encouraged, so consider bringing more than one form of payment.

Chan Road

Bangkok is known for its cheap, delicious street food.
